About Block Poster Maker

A block poster (also called a tiled poster or "rasterbation") is a big print made from ordinary printer pages: the image is split into a grid, each tile is printed on A4 or Letter, and the sheets are trimmed and joined. This free block poster maker does the splitting and produces a single ready-to-print PDF — choose the number of pages across and down, or type the exact finished size in cm, inches or feet.

Unlike older web tools, nothing is uploaded: your image is tiled and the PDF is built inside your browser. Each page carries cut marks, a repeated overlap strip with a dashed alignment guide, and its row/column number; page 1 is an assembly map. Drag the crop box to control exactly which part of the image fills the poster, or keep the whole image with white borders, and check the sharpness rating before you print.

How to make a tarpapel online

  1. 1Upload your photo or design (JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, or BMP). For best results use the largest version you have — at least 2,000 px wide for a 3-sheet-wide banner.
  2. 2Choose the paper you will print on: A4, Long / Folio (8.5 × 13 in), Letter / Short, Legal, or A3, and portrait or landscape.
  3. 3Set the size — either "By sheets" (for example 3 across × 4 down) or "Exact size" (for example 3 × 4 ft, or use the quick-size chips). The tool shows the finished size in cm and feet, the sheet count, and a sharpness rating.
  4. 4Drag the crop box over your photo to pick what gets printed, or switch to "Fit whole photo" to keep everything with white borders. Check the sheet layout preview.
  5. 5Click "Create tarpapel PDF", then Download. Print the PDF at 100% / Actual size (never "Fit to page"), cut along the marks, overlap on the dashed guide lines, and tape at the back. Page 1 walks you through it.

Frequently asked questions

How do I print a picture on multiple pages to make a poster?

Upload the image above, choose your paper size, set how many pages across and down (or the finished size), adjust the crop and click Create PDF. Print the PDF at 100% / Actual size, trim the right and bottom margins of each page along the cut marks, overlap each page onto its neighbour at the dashed guide, and tape the back.

What is the largest poster I can make?

Up to 20 × 20 pages, or 6 m on a side in exact-size mode — several metres of banner. What actually limits you is your image resolution: the sharpness badge turns red when the print would fall below about 55 DPI.

Does it work with A4, Letter and other sizes?

Yes: A4, A3, US Letter, Legal and Philippine Long (8.5 × 13 in) in portrait or landscape. Pick the size your printer is loaded with and choose the same size in the print dialog.

Is the block poster maker free and private?

Completely free, no account, no watermark — and private: the image never leaves your device because the tiling runs in your browser.
