Where do the exchange rates come from and how often do they update?
Rates are sourced from freecurrencyapi.com, which refreshes its market data daily. Our server caches the fetched rates for up to an hour to keep the tool fast, so the figures you see are at most a day old — the footer shows when your session last fetched them.
Which currencies are supported?
More than 30 world currencies, including all the majors — US dollar, euro, British pound, Japanese yen, Australian dollar, Canadian dollar, Swiss franc, and Chinese yuan — plus a range of other widely traded currencies, each listed with its code and full name.
Will I get exactly this rate at my bank?
Not quite. The tool shows the mid-market rate — the midpoint between buy and sell prices on currency markets. Banks, card providers, and exchange bureaus add a margin or fee on top, so the rate you are actually offered will be slightly less favorable. Use this converter as the fair-value benchmark to compare offers against.
Is my financial data stored anywhere?
No. The amount you enter is converted locally in your browser — only the base currency code is sent to our server to fetch the latest rates. Nothing you type is logged, stored, or shared.
