Gmail and Outlook cap a message at 25 MB — but that limit counts the email after encoding, which inflates attachments by about a third, so a video needs to be under roughly 18 MB to actually send. Why 18 MB and not 25 MB?
Email attachments are Base64-encoded, which makes them ~33% bigger in transit. 18 MB × 1.33 ≈ 24 MB, which squeezes under Gmail’s and Outlook’s 25 MB message limit. Larger videos are better shared as a link.
