About Percentage to GWA Converter
Colleges in the Philippines report grades on the 1.00–5.00 scale, while high-school cards, many online classes and some professors give percentages. This page opens the GWA calculator on its converter tab: type a percentage and see the 1.00–5.00 equivalent and its meaning (Excellent, Very Good, Good, Satisfactory, Passing, Failed), with the full table alongside. It uses the typical Philippine equivalence — 97–100 = 1.00, 94–96 = 1.25, 91–93 = 1.50, 88–90 = 1.75, 85–87 = 2.00, 82–84 = 2.25, 79–81 = 2.50, 76–78 = 2.75, 75 = 3.00, below 75 = 5.00.
Schools publish their own variants (UP and UST, for example, start 1.00 at 96 or 99), so treat the table as a close estimate and the calculator tab — which works with whatever grades your school actually gave — as the source of truth for your GWA.
How to compute your GWA
- 1Choose your grading scale or school (UP, UST, other 1.00–5.00, DLSU, Ateneo, other 4.0, or percentage).
- 2Type each subject’s final grade and its number of units. Leave the subject name blank if you like; add rows with “+ Add subject”.

Frequently asked questions
What is 90% in GWA?
On the typical Philippine table, 88–90% = 1.75. On UP’s published equivalence 90–92% = 1.75 as well, while UST places 89–91% at 1.75. So 90% is about 1.75 almost everywhere.
What percentage is a 1.00?
Typically 97–100%. UST and PUP use 96–100 / 97–100; UP’s transcript equivalence lists 99–100 for 1.00. Anything in the high 90s is a 1.00 at most schools.
What GWA is 75%?
3.00 — the passing grade on the 1.00–5.00 scale. Below 75% is 5.00 (failed); some schools also use 4.00 for a conditional grade.
