About DepEd Transmutation Table

This page opens the DepEd grade calculator with the transmutation table expanded. For School Year 2026–2027, DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026 uses an adjusted table: initial grades from 70.00 up map to 75 and above in steps of 1.18 points (70.00–71.17 → 75, 71.18–72.35 → 76 … 98.32–99.49 → 99, 99.50–100 → 100), and grades below 70 map to 60–74 in steps of about 4.67 points. Switch to DO 8 s. 2015 to see the classic table (100 → 100; 1.6-point bands down to 60.00–61.59 → 75; 4-point bands to 0–3.99 → 60).

Rather than scanning the table by hand, enter the Written Work, Performance Task and Exam scores and the calculator computes the initial grade and highlights the matching row. From SY 2027–28 DepEd plans zero-based grading with no transmutation; the calculator has a toggle to preview that too.

How to compute a DepEd grade (DO 015 s. 2026)

  1. 1Choose the grading system — DO 015 s. 2026 (three terms, SY 2026–27) or DO 8 s. 2015 (four quarters) — and the learning area, which sets the Written Work / Performance Tasks / Exam weights.
  2. 2Enter the learner’s total raw score and the highest possible score for Written Work and for Performance Tasks. The percentage score (PS = raw ÷ highest × 100) appears next to each.
  3. 3For the exam component under DO 015, enter Summative Test 1, Summative Test 2 and the Term Exam — they are combined 30/30/40. Under DO 8, enter the Quarterly Assessment.
  4. 4Read the weighted scores, the Initial Grade and the transmuted Term (or Quarterly) Grade with its descriptor. Untick transmutation to preview the zero-based grading that starts SY 2027–28.
  5. 5Enter the three term grades (or four quarterly grades) in the Final grade box to get the final grade and pass/fail at 75.

Frequently asked questions

What does transmutation mean in DepEd grading?

The initial grade (sum of weighted component scores) is mapped to a reported grade using a table, so that a 70 initial grade becomes the passing 75 under DO 015 s. 2026 (60 became 75 under DO 8 s. 2015). It raises low scores into the 60–100 reporting range.

What initial grade is needed to pass in SY 2026–27?

70.00. Under the adjusted DO 015 table, 70.00–71.17 transmutes to 75, the passing grade. Under the old DO 8 table the threshold was 60.00.

Is transmutation being removed?

DO 015 s. 2026 applies the adjusted table only for SY 2026–27; from SY 2027–28 grading is zero-based (the initial grade is the reported grade, floor 60) for Key Stages 2–4. Untick “Apply transmutation” in the calculator to see that.

Where is the official table?

In DepEd Order No. 015, s. 2026 (Revised Guidelines on Classroom Assessment, Grading System, and Awards and Recognition), and for the old system in DO 8, s. 2015. Both are reproduced in the calculator; check the DepEd issuance for your division’s implementation notes.
